Just before three a severe thunderstorm rolled through, packing wind gusts of 50 miles per hour.  Nearly three inches of rain fell in just under an hour.

Several streets flooded including the 2300 block of Nottingham Way where all the water was just too much for this car to handle.

Traffic lights were knocked out in several parts of town... from Westover and Westgate to Gillionville and Magnolia to the downtown area at Pine and Jackson.

A tree fell on a house on West Whitney Avenue.

No injuries were reported in the storm.

An ADICA meeting was canceled because of a power outage at the government center.

The storm toppled a tree onto this house on West Whitney Avenue, and that sparked a small fire.

The house at 2218 Golfcourse Drive was hit by lightning. Thankfully no one was hurt and the strike didn't start a fire.

Interestingly, this is the same street where one house has been hit by lightning twice in the last four years. Lynn Isaacson said she now plans to install lightning rods at her home.

In the 2200 block of Hanover Drive, a Large tree was blown down in the front yard of the home. No one was injured. The homeowners now have to deal with cleaning up the mess.
