ADEL, GA (WALB) -

Cook High head coach Ken Cofer says no matter what the Hornets have returning, the goal is to win the region 1-AA championship.

Cook will be a contender with 14 starters back including the entire offensive line.

Defensive end Matthew Foster, linebacker James Traylor and cornerback Chris Lissimore will anchor the defense.

Ross Pickle moves from linebacker to quarterback.

He will have plenty of depth in the backfield after the Hornets had to play several young players last season.

Players who give the Hornets hope for success this year and beyond.

Ken Cofer said. "All of these kids are back. They will be there for junior season. We have got them back for another year. We like to call them to smurfs because they are so small. They love the nickname and they do a lot of good things for us."

Cook opens at home August 31st against Worth County.
