VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
It is a different year for Valdosta State quarterback Cayden Cochran.
Cochran is the Blazers starting quarterback heading into the season.
He is finally comfortable in the VSU offense after transferring from Oklahoma late last summer.
VSU is the preseason pick to win the Gulf South Conference but Cochran says that honor doesn't mean much to the Blazers in the first week of fall camp.
Cayden Cochran said. "They are not handing out GSC trophies right now and we understand that. We have to come out and work harder than everyone else. the ten teams on our schedule are very good. We have got to come out here and we have got to perform well."
VSU will host Meet the Blazer day on August 25th.
One week before the season opener at Saginaw Valley State.
