ATLANTA, GA (WALB) -

Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson says barring some unforeseen situation, Tevin Washington will be the Jackets starting quarterback to start the season.

His backup Synjyn Days though will not be standing by on the sidelines.

Head coach Paul Johnson is wanting his backup quarterback to be a playmaker at other positions.

Days is working at A-Back and also on the kick return unit.

Paul Johnson said. "Synjyn is playing other places already. He did some of that in the spring. He will work multiple places. We are going to try to find a way to get him on the field somehow."

Georgia Tech will open the season September 3rd at Virginia Tech.
