Two years ago, Georgia had so many running backs they moved Richard Samuel to linebacker.
Samuel took a redshirt that year to learn the position.
Samuel though never got to play defense.
The loss of Caleb King and Washaun Ealey last year and the dismissal of Isaiah Crowell this summer leave the senior as the most experienced running back on the Georgia roster.
Samuel has proven to be an unselfish player and the Bulldogs this year are asking him to play both spots in the backfield.
Richard Samuel "From fullback to running back is basically the same thing. The playbook is the same. The position is a little bit different. Besides that I feel like it is all the same."
Georgia opens the season at home September 1 against Buffalo.
