An afternoon traffic jam at a Northwest Albany school left some parents frustrated on the first day of class.

Take a look at this bumper to bumper traffic backed up from Doncaster Drive onto Stuart Avenue as parents picked up their children from Sherwood Acres Elementary School.

Some parents weren't happy about the wait.

"I got frustrated. I saw a car, a yellow mustang, pull all the way down and got their kid and came back out while I'm sitting at the same corner and hadn't moved. Who's going to reimburse me for my time and my gas for just sitting there and waiting in a long line like this?" said Doug Bundred.

School officials say this kind of traffic jam is common on the first day of school as an influx of parents come to pick up their students on the first day.

Officials say the traffic subsides after the first week of classes and they ask for your patience.
