A Dougherty County Human Resources employee pleads guilty to 27 counts of stealing money from her church, but she's won't serve jail time.

53-year-old Yolanda Pope plead guilty to 21 counts of financial transaction card fraud and six counts of theft by taking this morning.

Prosecutors say Pope used the New Macedonia Baptist Church ATM card to withdraw as much as $7,000 from the church account. She worked in the church's finance office.

In a plea agreement with prosecutors, Pope was placed in a pre-trial intervention program and will not serve any jail time if she finishes the program successfully.

Pope has already paid back the church.

County officials say Pope has been suspended without pay since her indictment in October 2010, and now is entitled to a hearing on her job status.
