DOERUN, GA (WALB) -

Doerun Police took down a mother and son crime duo on Highway 133 early Saturday morning.

Deborah and Roderick Pride just left from the Moultrie Walmart and police say they helped themselves to some flat screen TVs without paying.

"We heard dispatch call the Moultrie Police Department to go to Walmart in reference to a gray Jeep that just left with stolen TVs," said Doerun Patrol Officer Wil Cope.

Police said the pair walked out of Walmart on Veteran's Parkway with seven stolen flat screens and once cops spotted the car that fit the description, they could easily see they were after the culprits.

"From the back glass, when I stopped the vehicle, you could actually see boxes saying ‘Emerson 32"' on them so that gave me a pretty good Idea that was the vehicle," said Cope.

The two are now facing felony theft by shoplifting charges.

Officer Cope says he happy to get these two off the streets.

"I don't care whether it's good times or hard times, you're going to have some people that just won't work for anything and they just want to steal things. That puts a damper on all the hard working citizens," said Cope.

He even has a message for crooks who are thinking about coming through Colquitt County.

"Well if you come to Colquitt County, either we're going to get you, Moultrie (Police) is going to get you or the Sheriff's Office is going to get you. One of us is going to get you. So it's probably best for you to go somewhere else other than Colquitt County," said Cope.

The Prides were booked into the Colquitt County Jail and face felony theft charges in Moultrie and traffic violation charges in Doerun.
