VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta authorities say that Freddrick Tooley was arrested in Broward County, Florida over the weekend, and a stolen vehicle was recovered. Tooley will be in court today in Broward County.

Valdosta Police were looking for Tooley for breaking into an elderly woman's home, demanding money and stabbing her.

80-year-old Dorothy Linder says her attacker is a family friend and distant relative.

Police say Tooley broke in to Linder's home on Cummings Street in Valdosta and stabbed her with a knife.

She and her 17-year-old granddaughter, DeAmber Linder, fought him off and he took off in Linder's car.

She says she's grateful she's alive.

"I knew we were in danger, the knife that he had he could have stabbed us one time each and killed us, because he had a butcher knife about this long," said Linder

Linder's wounds were not life threatening.

Valdosta Police ask you to contact them if you have any information on this assault. Their number is 229-293-3145.
