National Night Out is next week

Posted: Updated:

Albany Police will have their annual National Night Out next Tuesday. It's been a staple of this community for more than 20 years.

You can expect to have a fun night out and get helpful information. It's something the whole family can enjoy. Last year, APD had booths set up on ways to deal with drugs and gang activity.

You can expect that and more at this year's event. Organizers hope this event will continue to bridge partnerships between the police and the community.

They want to bring neighbors together in efforts to stop crime. It starts at 5pm and ends at 8 on Tuesday August 7th. The event is being held at the Albany Civic Center and it's free.

Their theme is Giving Neighborhood Crime and Drugs A Going Away Party. Law enforcement agencies in Moultrie, Dougherty and Lee County are planning a National Night Out as well.
