We have a new Dougherty County commissioner.

Clinton Johnson's camp was excited to hear that he is the new District 3 commissioner for Dougherty County.

Johnson says he will hit the ground running by being involved in the community and holding forums to find out what the people in his district truly wants.

He says he already knows a couple of issues he want to tackle first.

"Our real opponent is the crime, the poverty, the drugs, the unemployment and lack of development," Johnson said. "My real opponent has always been to turn around District 3, so we're ready to get going."

Johnson is a Youth Coordinator at Greater second Mount Olive Baptist Church. He takes the seat vacated by Maurlean Edwards.
