VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Today the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta cut the ribbon to its brand new $10 million parking garage.

The garage adds 725 parking spaces for patients, visitors, and employees. Part of the project was covered by the SPLOST tax, and the hospital says they are thankful to help accommodate more patients.

"This parking deck really is a fulfillment of demand for health care services for the main medical center and will allow patients to park without any inconvenience," said Jack Sauls, Executive Officer at SGMC.

The parking garage is free to park in and will be open to the public next Monday.
