In Georgia today voters have a chance to let their voices be heard. Ballots are being cast in the Primary elections for a number of issues and or candidates.

But here in Albany, the T-Splost and a seat on the Dougherty County School Board are at the top of their list.

Most voters we talked to had two things on their minds as they headed to the polls.  "I think everybody is talking about the T-Splost and the school board election," said Stephanie Edge.

"I just feel like it's the right thing to do," said Lachaka Barney.

For some, T-Splost would be a move in right direction.  "You have to maintain the infrastructure that you have. You can't build something and expect it to last forever. Right now our infrastructure is declining." said Steve Hunter.

"I think it's a good thing and it's a way for money to be spread out equally," Stephanie Edge said.

Others like Jim Hall see the extra penny sales tax as unfair and unneeded. "I just don't think we ought to give any more money to people who aren't using it efficiently."

"We get these promises all the time about getting money and it never comes. That's why I voted against it," Al Barge said.

Picking the right lady between these two is also on voters' minds. The race for the Dougherty County School Board At-Large position means a lot.

"We just want to see a change in the school board," said Barge.

"We've been voting in blocks 4 to 3... 4 to 3, strictly along racial lines. We need to vote for the kids and not racial lines," said Hall.

One thing's for certain-- the lines at the polls today will bring about some sort of change.
