LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -
A Lee County youth baseball team is getting ready to head to Florida.
11 and 12 year olds in the Lee County National Dixie Youth Baseball team won the Georgia State Championship.
Next week, they will be representing Georgia in the Dixie Youth Baseball Major World Series in Bartow, Florida.
To offset the cost of uniforms and supplies, they held a carwash and bake sale for the community.
"We are getting new uniforms, we are getting helmets, bat bags, cleats, whatever expenses that we will have for Florida, that is what all the proceeds will be going to," says Valerie West\Lee County National.
