MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Synthetic marijuana and bath salts are now on the radar of federal drug agents.

Just this week, three people in Moultrie were charged with smoking synthetic pot.

20-year-old David Brown, 19-year-old Katherine Casteloes, and a 16-year-old girl were charged with possession of synthetic marijuana and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Thursday, the DEA launched Operation Log Jam, a crackdown on synthetic drugs, like bath salts and spice.

Law officers in one South Georgia town are preparing for the crackdown.

"We kind of generally follow the trend of Valdosta, Lowndes County, we talk to a lot of the drug agents over there, they are the ones that keep us up to date, and let us know what is going on, and they have had a rash of it so we just believe it is a matter of time," said Investigator Rod Howell, Colquitt Co. Drug Enforcement Team.

They have just ordered bath salt and spice test kits to test substances in the field for illegal chemicals.
