A fund is now set up to help a Lee County teenager who had her scalp ripped off in a farm accident Monday.

13-year-old Brooklyn Parrish was helping her grandfather dig holes with a tractor on a west Dougherty County plantation when her long hair got caught in the PTO shaft on the tractor.

Her scalp was ripped off.

Brooklyn is now in the Intensive Care Unit at Shands Hospital in Gainesville Florida. Her mother says she is alert and responsive, but not speaking.

A fund is now set up to help with her medical expenses. "It's going to be a long, long road. Many, many months of recovery and surgeries," said her Cousin Misty Shook.

Parrish's father, Max, returned from Afghanistan to be by his daughter's side.

The family wants to thank the people organizing fund raisers, and have set up a facebook page called "Pray for Brooklyn."
