School board candidates face off in debate

Posted: Updated:

Candidates for the at large position on the Dougherty County school board went head to head today, discussing many of the issues facing the school system.

Incumbent Anita Williams-Brown and challenger Doctor Lane Price debated before the Dougherty County Rotary Club.

Members asked questions about policies and procedures, free and reduced lunch violations, and the controversial charter school proposal.

"I'm here today to really talk about my platform and what we are doing presently on the school board and what we plan to do in the future," said Anita Williams Brown, School Board Member.

"I've been talking about changes I think are mandatory that must be made and that I would be working on and making those changes," said Lane Price, School Board Candidate.

The election is just one week away.
