Librarians in Valdosta are still sorting through boxes of books that are part of one of the largest single donations the library has ever gotten.
They estimate Betty Holcombe donated nearly 2,000 books to the Friends of the Library organization. President Kay Scott says it would be hard for the library to operate without donations like Holcombe's.
"Funds as probably everybody knows for libraries and everything else government funded have been cut, cut, cut in the last few years. And probably the majority of books that were purchased were with our funds," said Scott.
You can expect those donated books to be on the shelves in the next few days.
