THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A Mitchell County educator is trying to change the lives of young men in south Georgia.

North Mitchell County Elementary Assistant Principal Keith Hose organized the Save Our Sons Empowerment Rally.

Saturday, Hose will address more than 300 young men and single mothers on the importance of staying away from gangs, drugs, and other criminal activity.

"Now is the time for us to educate, empower, inform the young men about doing better, about life skills, about making a positive difference in others lives, but most importantly, in their life," said Hose.

The rally begins Saturday morning at 9 at Saint Luke Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Thomasville.

Registration begins at 8:30.
