PUTNEY, GA -
A Mitchell County family is hoping for the community's support as they raise money for a loved one suffering from liver cancer.
Harry Beck is undergoing chemotherapy but will require a liver transplant.
This Saturday a benefit for Beck will be held at Lighthouse Ministries on US 19 in Putney.
Several gospel singers will perform and bar-b-que will sold to help with transplant expenses.
"We have to raise enough funds to get the family up to Atlanta, and our family is pretty big. We have to go through counseling with the transplant team. Due to Harry's size it's going take him a while to process the healing," said Beck's sister Becky Griffin.
The benefit starts at 7.
An account has been set up at PNC Bank in Harry Beck's name for those who wish to donate.
