With Albany Panthers head coach Lucious Davis changing his mind and deciding to return for a fourth season, the question is will Davis decision to return have an impact on some of his players who say they may not be back next season.
Lucious Davis told WALB News Ten Sports before the PIFL championship game that he was not coming back next year because he wanted to be with his family in Houston.
General manager Will Carter worked out a deal that will allow Davis to spend more time in Texas and Davis is coming back for a fourth year coaching the Panthers.
He believes his decision to return will bring back the core of a Panthers team that has won two straight league titles.
Lucious Davis said. "Those core group of guys that I have been having since I have been here. Cecil (QB Cecil Lester), McCray (DB Demetrie McCray), Rafe (WR Clenton Rafe), Cutts (WR Antwontis Cutts). Those guys have been with me since day one. I feel like as long as I am back here. I really feel like those guys will come back."
Lucious Davis has won 33 games in three seasons as the Albany Panthers head coach.
