Pet supplies stolen in Albany burglary

Posted: Updated:

An Albany store manager believes a thief who broke into his business carefully planned the crime.  The burglar knew exactly how to avoid the store surveillance cameras.

Someone shattered the front door at Bennett's Feed and Seed on North Washington Street about 4:15 Wednesday morning.

The crook stole $1,500 worth of flea and worm medication from a cabinet by the door.   The manager thinks it could be someone involved in dog breeding and fighting who has been in his store to plan the heist.

"I would think it would be someone maybe in this pit bull business, or selling to them. Something along those lines," said John Albritton, Bennett's Feed & Seed General Manager.

Albritton says they are increasing security, including having those store doors replaced with unbreakable plexiglass.
