TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Dirty politics reaches a new level in Tift County, where the sheriff's race is marred by dangerous acts of vandalism.

Over the weekend someone shot out the windows on a car one candidate uses to campaign.

He's not the only candidate who says he's dealing with this kind of vandalism.

If you've driven through Ty Ty you may have noticed Steve Woods' campaign vehicle out on the side of the road but unfortunately vandals shot out the windows over the weekend.

It's not only a pointless crime, but a very dangerous one as well.

If those vandals are caught they will face felony charges.

Gene Scarborough, Steve Wood, and Dennis Reese are running in the Republican primary on July 31st to replace retiring Sheriff Gary Vowell.

There is no Democratic candidate.
