CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

A Cordele woman has been working all summer long to raise money to do a year of mission work in Spain. 

Elizabeth Holmes met with her missions team at her home church of Cordele First Methodist Sunday.

She needs to raise $20,000 before July 31st.  So far she's reached 90% of that goal. She says the money will be used to help many people in Spain. 

"We'll be doing a lot of stuff over there from planning churches to helping out with immigrants, and to even get some youth ministry started up in the area," Holmes said. "So, we are really blessed for this opportunity. I'm really thankful for everyone who has helped us."

She is going through an organization called Operation Mobilization. She will be the organization's ministry coordinator for the Spanish branch of the mission group.
