LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -
Lee County Sheriff deputies arrested two men on drug charges during a traffic stop.
They confiscated nearly five ounces of marijuana and a loaded sawed off shotgun from the vehicle. A deputy pulled over 33-year-old Kelsie Brown of Alabama, and 23-year-old Darryl Tucker of Albany, on Highway 19 North near Smithville.
Sheriff Reggie Rachals says his officers are committed to keeping the streets safe.
"We're looking and we're gonna come up on you, and we're gonna get you. Rather it be here or down the street at another agency that's doing the same particular thing. Because this right here is what we want off the street because we want our streets safer, that's what the drug interdictions unit is all about," said Lee County Sheriff Reggie Rachals.
The marijuana was valued at $3,000. Both men are charged with one count of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
Also one count of possession of a sawed off shot gun during the commission of a felony, and one count of possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
Darryl Tucker is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
