Phillip Phillips' first single "Home" has gone gold, marking sales in excess of 500,000 units; 523,477 to be exact, according to management and publishing company Pulse Recordings.
It sold more than 27,000 copies in one week.
The owner of Java the Hut in Leesburg says people are still coming in and asking about Phillip.
"We still have people come in here on a daily basis still looking for t-shirts and looking for any kind of souvenir," said Dean'Na Barnes, owner of Java the Hut. "They want to know where he lives and everything. People come out of town looking for this, our home town boy. They are really excited about his music."
Right now, Phillip is performing "Home" on the American Idol concert tour. He's also working to finish his first album.
Java the Hut plans to start selling a new t-shirt soon featuring Phillips, Buster Posey, and Luke Bryan.
"Home" has made American Idol history by achieving the biggest sales week for any Idol winner's coronation single, surpassing David Cook's "The Time of my Life" from 2008.
The song also had the second-best digital sales week ever for any "Idol" contestant, trailing only Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" from 2009.
"Home" is also the first coronation single since 2008 to reach the Billboard Hot 100′s top 10 in it's first week, with its debut at No. 10.
Pulse Recordings represents the song's co-writer and producer Drew Pearson.
