Three different smash and grab burglaries in East Albany, and from surveillance video it appears it's the same masked man involved in all three break ins.
A masked man checking around the front of the Spee-Go Convenience store in the 200 block of Johnson Road about 2:15 Thursday morning.
He goes back to the right front door, and throws a rock against it, breaking the pexi-glass door loose from it's frame, but then gets scared and runs away empty handed.
The owner, Danny Patel, says it's the first time anyone has tried to break into his store, but he is worried by crime in his East Albany neighborhood.
Albany Police are investigating the shooting of a man this afternoon. He took himself to the hospital emergency room about 1 p.m. with a bullet wound in his calf.
Police say 29-year-old DeCorey Bailey told them he was shot in the 400 block of Harmon Avenue, but Police canvassed the area and found no evidence of any shooting.
Investigators say they have uncovered several inconsistencies in his initial statements, and their investigation is continuing.
Bailey's wound is not life threatening.
