Hook A Kid On Golf Camp

Posted: Updated:

Golf is a game that many fall in love with the first time they pick up a club.

That is the case again this year.

Flint River Golf Club pro Roy Snead wrapped up another successful week with his Hook A Kid on Golf Program with the Albany Parks and Recreation Department Thursday.

The kids are giving a bag of clubs, lessons and rules of the game and then go out from this week to continue to improve.

One young player says he has ready to play again after putting down his clubs.

Another first time player learned golf is not as boring as it appears.

Presley McClure said. "When I started doing it, I was like hey this could be kind of fun. I thought why don't I just do it and see how it turns out. When I play, I really enjoy it."

Preston Brown said. "Coach Roy (Snead) has been a great teacher for us. He is really, really great at showing us everything on the golf course, with our clubs and how to hit."

This is the 14th year the Albany Parks and Recreation Department has sponsored the Hook A Kid on Golf program.
