Burglary victim blames hard times

Posted: Updated:

An East Albany bar owner says it will cost about one thousand dollars to repair the damage and replace three TV's after thieves broke into his business.

Another Place Owner Jimmy Pelham showed us the back door burglars broke down at the bar in the 1500 block of East Broad Avenue. Police spotted it about 5:30 Tuesday morning.

The burglars broke the liquor cabinet doors but did not take any booze. They did take three flat screen TV's, but dropped one in the parking lot.

Pelham knows there have been a lot of business burglaries in East Albany in recent months.

"There is going to be some crime. Nobody got a job, man. Ain't got a job, that's when it gets worse," said Another Place Owner Jimmy Pelham.

Pelham has already re-inforced that back door while repairing it, and said he will put burglar bars up on the back windows and doors to try to prevent any more break-ins.
