Three incoming college freshman get a little extra financial help from The Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County.
Monday, the Kiwanis Club presented their annual college scholarships to three deserving students.
Lee and Dougherty County high school seniors submit an essay, their SAT scores, and letters of recommendations to qualify.
One of the recipients is home-schooled and couldn't qualify for the HOPE scholarship.
"I was a little bit shocked because I had heard like a lot of people had applied, so I was really excited and my mom was really excited," said Brooks Anne Mitchell, Scholarship Winner.
She'll attend Darton in the fall. The other recipients are Kayleigh Sullivan and Chelsea Fitzhugh..
