Albany's Mayor puts parents on notice. She says city officials will not allow unaccompanied teens to ruin another downtown special event.

On Wednesday, Albany Police stopped the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration after several fights broke out.

Police say most of the violence was caused by unsupervised teens.

Mayor Dorothy Hubbard says city officials and police are now formulating a plan to make sure teens are better supervised at future events.

"We will not allow them to take over our city. We just won't do that. So the people of Southwest Georgia, the people of Albany, the people of Dougherty County need to know that we are on this.  And we are going to take care of this," said Albany Mayor, Dorothy Hubbard.

Mayor Hubbard said that parents need to be aware that at future events. The city will demand they stay with and control their teens.
