ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A former law enforcement firearms trainer from Leesburg, who plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the accidental shooting of a trainee last year, was buried Monday.

42 year old Kevin Smith committed suicide July 4th in St. Augustine, Florida.

August 11th, 2011 Smith accidentally shot and killed 24 year old Tiffany Bishop during a training session at the state prison in Jackson. Following his guilty plea, Smith served 90 days in jail and surrendered his law enforcement certifications.

Smith is survived by a wife and young daughter.
