The Albany Dougherty Payroll Development Authority approved the sale of 9.2 acres of land from the industrial park off the Liberty Bypass to Setzer Properties ZALN, LLC for $ 131, 550.
The property, at 1508 Dougherty Avenue, will be developed by the company for a new 61,000 square foot distribution center for Fed Ex Ground.
It will replace the 21,000 square foot building now being used by Fed Ex Ground next door to the property.
Payroll Development Authority members say they are not sure how many new jobs will be created by Fed Ex's expansion, but it could be between 12 to 24 additional jobs for Albany.
