Colquitt Co. drug suspect leads deputies on a chase

Colquitt County drug agents had a good idea that Bradley Tuff had drugs inside his home. Their suspicion grew stronger when he led deputies on a nearly 20 mile chase. From the highway to dirt roads he was on a mission to get away, but just as determined was the deputy in pursuit.

Colquitt County Deputy Chris Thomas attempted to pull over Tuff's Toyota Camry around 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon.

He left his home on Cook Road as drug agents were about to serve a warrant.

Near Highway 133, Tuff ignored the blue lights and took off on a wild 18-mile ride as he tried to outrun law enforcement.

"Once they started, deputies and police officers, including Berlin Police Department came to assist and try to parallel the suspect and keep him contained to one area," said Colquitt County Drug Squad Commander Steve Exum.

The chase reached speeds of 85 miles an hour down country roads of southeast Colquitt County. At times, Tuff veered into the opposite lane of traffic and narrowly missed a police car at an intersection.

During the chase drug agents searched his home.

"Agents found 10 pounds of marijuana packaged in a manner normally associated with sale. Also found was over 12,000 dollars in cash and ecstasy pills," Exum said.

Several thousands dollars worth of weed, more than a hundred ecstasy pills along with a gun. WIth his stash a loss, Tuff would have tough time evading once he hit a stop stick that badly damaged his left front tire..

Deputy Thomas utilized a pit maneuver to bring the chase to an end more than 20 minutes after it started.

Tuff is being held in the Colquitt County Jail on felony traffic charges as well possession of marijuana and ecstasy with intent to distribute.

More arrests could be made in the case.
