You can help save homeless dogs

Posted: Updated:
DAWSON, GA (WALB) -

You can help save dogs that otherwise will soon be euthanized. The group "Paws for Hope and Faith" is working to save the homeless animals at Terrell County Animal Shelter.

Shane and Janet Smith travel the country helping shelters. The Terrell County shelter pardoned all their dogs in June while the Smiths work to find them homes. But the pardon ends on July 7th.

"Every dog needs a home and without that and without the support of the public, these dogs will be euthanized and will not stand a chance at getting adopted," says Martha Ann Coe\Animal Control Director.

There were 48 dogs at the shelter when the pardon began. 21 of them have been adopted out to loving homes. That means there are still 27 animals who need your help in the next couple of days.
