An Albany High school student needs your help to collect blood and possibly earn a college scholarship.
Abigail Shephard is a rising senior and she is organizing a blood drive at Sears in the Albany Mall Friday.
If she gets more than 35 people to donate she will be entered in a contest to win a scholarship. She said this scholarship stood out to her because of the shortage of blood right now.
Shephard says, "There have been a couple of emergency blood drives and I just want to help the community and this is a continuation of that: blood is always needed in hospitals, in southwest Georgia, and all over the world."
If Shephard gets enough people to come out., she'll have a chance to win a $1000 scholarship.
You can sign up to donate at Toyota of Albany, or just show up at Sears this Friday during regular business hours.
