17-year-old Lowndes County football player Jacob McCook passed away Thursday morning.
He had been in a Tallahassee hospital for five days after suffering a head injury after a car accident in Lake Park.
He was flown to Tallahassee shortly after the accident and placed on life support.
His funeral arrangements are expected to be completed today.
This is the second death for the Lowndes football community this month. Former offensive lineman Ed Christian was shot and killed in Auburn on June 9th.
A fund has been set
up for donations for this at 1st Federal Savings and Loans in Valdosta, Ga.
