    Five months after the mysterious murder of a Coffee County woman, people gathered Tuesday night in Douglas to remember her and to launch a community effort to make sure her case isn't forgotten. Friends
    People gather to bring attention to one of many unsolved murders of women in Coffee County.

Officers responded to the Woodall's station at 261 E. Oglethorpe Blvd., to investigate what was reported as a shooting. 

They found 20-year-old Cornelius Evans lying on his back, unconscious, and unresponsive.

Several witnesses reported that Evans had been attacked by four or five black men that they cold not identify.

They told officers that Evans was knocked to the pavement, and hit and stomped repeatedly by the suspects.

EMS gave Evans medical assistance and transported him to Phoebe Putney Hospital Emergency Center for additional medical treatment.

23-year-old Malcolm Davis has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.
