Panthers calling for another blackout

Posted: Updated:

The Albany Panthers are hosting their second championship in two years and are counting on the fans as a force to lead them to their second consecutive championship.

The Panthers are calling for a Black Out when they take on the Richmond Raiders in the 2012 PIFL League Championship this Saturday.

Coaches, players and staff are asking fans to show their support by wearing all black or purchasing a limited edition T-shirt.

General manager Will Carter says the team can very close to selling out last year's SIFL championship game and the goal this year is to fill the Civic Center for the PIFL title game.

Will Carter said. "Yeah this is a huge game. It's the PIFL championship game. We need the fans to come out and support us this weekend as we call for a blackout. We're asking every fan to wear a black T-shirt or if they do not have a t-shirt come to the Civic center. We are going to have collectible limited edition black T-shirts that say repeat on them as we are looking for our second consecutive championship in two years."

The Panthers will be selling souvenir black t-shirts on Saturday.
