A volunteer at a soon-to-be-closed library branch in Albany is making a desperate plea to keep it open.
Amie Bush teaches reading to kids and adults at the Westtown Library.
She's angry that the Westtown and Southside branches are about to shut down.
She says that will be detrimental to the future of children in Albany, especially those who live near those branches and can't afford to travel to other libraries.
"This might be your doctor, this might be your lawyer, and this might be your cure for cancer. We don't know, so why close this place?" said Bush.
Bush says she doesn't know if she'll relocate to continue teaching reading lessons.
The Westtown and Southside branch libraries will close at the end of the business day Saturday.
