The Albany marathon was another huge success. Despite rainy weather during the race, the marathon brought in thousands of dollars to the Willson Hospice House.
Today, organizers presented a 25,000 dollar check to the Willson Hospice House.
Over the past six years, the Marathon has donated more than 120,000 to the Hospice House. The money goes toward patient needs and new equipment.
"It is so nice to have funds like this because if a need comes up quickly..we are able to respond quickly and that's very important with hospice patients to be able to meet their needs quickly," said Patty Woodall, the Director of Albany Community Hospice.
Plans are already underway for the 2013 marathon. It's set for March 2nd.
