A former south Georgia police chief was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Sonny Davis was Chief of Police in Fort Gaines.
The GBI says in November of 2011, Davis confronted a man who was arguing with an officer.
The victim said Davis, who was off duty, cursed him, ran him out of the station and then hit him on the head with a gun.
Davis lost his job. He was booked into the Clay County Jail but no mugshot was taken of him.
