DOERUN, GA (WALB) -

You may have thought it would never happen again, but gas is now below $3.00 a gallon in parts of south Georgia.

Aden's Minit Market in Doerun was selling regular unleaded for $2.99 Tuesday. In fact, all three stations in town are selling at that price.

We talked to a driver who lives in Dougherty County and passes through on his way to work in Moultrie who appreciates the lower prices. John Anderson said, "I think it's great. It needs to go down a lot more by fifty more cents. I drive from here to Moultrie everyday. I work down here, and that's a pretty reasonable price compared to Albany price."

We heard prices are even lower right now in Damascus.

According to AAA, the average price in Georgia right now is $3.19 a gallon.
