A split Albany city commission still can't decide what to do about a proposed new transportation hub and now they may lose federal money for the project.

Commissioners voted down a proposal to hire an architectural and engineering firm to start work on the multi-modal center at the proposed Roosevelt Avenue site.

Some commissioners want to overhaul the current bus station on West Oglethorpe Boulevard.

If work doesn't start soon on Roosevelt, the city will lose millions of dollars from the federal government for the project.

Commissioners plan to ask Congressman Sanford Bishop to try to extend the deadline.
