Georgia drivers fill up, as gas prices fall

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Gas prices continue to fall at a time when they normally rise, as summer travel picks up.

Robert Robinson lives in Tifton.  We caught him filling up in Valdosta on his way to Orlando with his grandson.

Robinson says they would of made the trip anyway, but he knows lower gas prices will encourage more folks to travel.

"$3.08 here, $3.08.9 and that's a good price.  And I'm hoping the price will continue to come down. People will travel more and it will be good for the economy. If you're not putting gas in your tank you can put it in something else," said Robinson.

According to Triple-A, the average price for gas in Georgia right now is $3.20 a gallon. That's down 21 cents in a month and 30 cents less than we were paying a year ago.
