Former Lowndes star Sepp Straka is preparing for the biggest tournament of his career next month. Straka won a playoff two weeks ago to earn the third and final spot from his qualifier tournament for the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. Sepp and his twin brother Sam led Lowndes to a state championship last year and both just finished their freshman seasons at the University of Georgia.
It isn't easy to make the field at the U.S. Amateur Public Links championship and the course will be even more difficult. Sepp is looking forward to the challenge and possible reward, "If I end up doing good, possibly winning the tournament, I would go to the Masters. That would be unbelievable but I am not trying to think that far ahead."
The United State Amateur Public Links Championship will take place July 9th through the 15th in Utah.
