Suspected gunman in custody

Posted: Updated:

An Albany man wanted for shooting at a teenaged girl is now in custody.  31-year-old Frederick Anderson surrendered about 4:30. He is now charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

A lookout was issued for Anderson after a shot was fired at this house at 709 Corn Avenue around 1:30 this afternoon.

Police say Anderson argued with 16 year-old Kyianna Williams and 14 year-old Thameaski Williams and Anderson fired a gun at them. They were not hurt.

At first, officers believed Anderson was barricaded inside his home, so they called the SWAT team.

But a check of the house showed he was gone. Dougherty County police used GPS to help Albany Police find Anderson's grey Pontiac Grand Am around 3:30.

It was abandoned at the Albany Express store at the corner of Lily Pond and Newton Road.

Anderson showed up at the police station about an hour later.
