The battle that's been going on for more than a decade has hit yet another roadblock.
Tuesday, City of Albany commissioners voted 4 to 3 to not work out a deal with a Virginia architect.
Commissioners Christopher Pike, Bob Langstaff, Jon Howard and Mayor Dorothy Hubbard are opposed to the site chosen for the multi-modal project.
"Why spend money, when what you are spending it on is not what the people want? We are here to represent the people and we need to do that as best as we can," said Mayor Hubbard.
Mayor Hubbard says most riders at the current station don't want it to be move to the proposed Roosevelt location.
"If we go back to square 1, all we're going to be doing is unraveling what we've already bound up," said Ward 6 commissioner Tommie Postell.
Postell voted for the contract talks to go forward.
He says voting down talks before the commission knows the results of a $250,000 archeological study isn't the best idea.
"We spent more than $200,000 to have a study and we have not gotten the results from the study, I think we're putting the horse in the back of the cart instead of in front of it," said Postell.
If the vote stands at next week's night meeting, the project will go back to its beginning stages.
"We would have to go back and review the entire process. I think that we would also have to let GDOT and FTA know where we are," said Mayor Hubbard.
City Officials says they won't know the results of the archeological study anytime soon. If they vote stands, officials say they will more than likely end that study.
Commissioners will take a final vote on the matter on next Tuesday.
