Would there still be just one blemish on the regular season record at the end of the night for the Albany Panthers? The purple and gold was in Richmond to close out the regular season for what many say may be a preview to the PIFL championship.
With quarterback Cecil Lester on the bench resting a sore knee, Darnell Kennedy lead the troops. This game went back and forth for most of the night. It was tied at 36 a piece at half time.
In the 2nd half it was like a heavy weight bout. There were 9 lead changes. Neither team refused to quit but for the second time this season the Albany Panthers lost on a last second field goal as time expired.
67-66 was the final. The Panthers still with home field throughout the playoffs. Albany finishes the regular season 10-2 and will host Columbus in the PIFL semi-finals on Saturday
