Albany police invite you to spend a day with a cop.
APD will host its Day with a Cop Picnic Saturday at Tift Park from 10 to 2.
There will be free food, games, a DJ and gift cards.
Officers hope the event will build a strong relationship between the community and the department.
They want the community to come together as one.
"Often times you hear people say 'East Albany' or 'West Albany'. People don't understand that we're one Albany. When one affects Albany, be it north, east, south or west, it affects Albany as a whole. So we just want the community to come out and come together," said Investigator Kawaski Barnes with the Albany Police Department.
City buses will provide rides to the picnic.
Buses will pick up at Pick ‘N Save on E. Broad at 9:15am, the bus station on Oglethorpe Blvd. at 9:30am and the intersection of Gordon Ave. and Slappey Blvd. at 9:45am.
